Creating a Profile
To create an account on Military Cupid you must first indicate your name, gender, whether you are seeking a woman or man, age, email, and create a password. You also have the option of signing up through your Facebook account. You will also be prompted to upload a photo but this can be skipped and you can start using your account immediately. Photos can be uploaded through Facebook or your direct files.
MilitaryCupid will keep prompting you to complete your profile through pop-ups that show questions you can answer while you are using the platform. Any changes made to your profile will be reviewed within 10 minutes of submitting it. Cupid Media does a good job of how they design and outline the questions for their members to have a completed profile across all of their dating platforms, this includes MilitaryCupid. The questions provided for members to have a completed profile are neatly divided into different tabs, such as, Photos, Profile, Match, Interest, Personality, Cupid Tags, and Verify Profile. Each of these tabs will have a red mark next to it and will display a green checkmark once it is completed. All the tabs have extensive questions that will take time to answer. The questions are designed to depict a good picture of who you are and the type of match you are looking for. There will also be some fill-in questions and you can indicate what service branch you are in or whether you are a civilian. Having an in-depth completed profile will increase your chances of finding the right match.
Using the Site
Just like all the other Cupid Media dating sites, MilitaryCupid’s design and layout are very easy to read and use. Upon logging in, you have access to tabs and different options along the dashboard. The tabs are Matches, Search, Messages, and Activity. You can also view a meter of profile completeness, prompting you to fully complete it, if you haven’t already done so. You also have access to your messages, interests, views, and favorites. You can also view other members’ profiles and can adjust them by utilizing a search tool available near the dashboard. The search tool can list members by gender, age, country, state/province, city, and miles.
Communicating with other members will be limited to showing interests and adding to your favorites. If you wish to communicate with a member you will have to upgrade to be able to send them messages and use live chat with instant messenger. Otherwise, you will only be able to receive and read messages from paying members. Members are only allowed to have up to 500 message per day within 24 hours from when the first message was sent. You can also view other members’ profiles at no cost.
Finding a Match
MilitaryCupid provides advanced search filters and tools to help you find your right match. It is important to note that you will want to update and complete the Match tab in the profile settings to ensure that MilitaryCupid only provides matches that meet your criteria. Keep in mind, however, that anything outside of your search criteria will not be shown to you. A good tip is to include criteria that are absolute must-haves for you so that you have more of a selection of matches to choose from. The Advanced Search filters allows members to not only narrow down matches by demographical information or personal preferences, but it also allows you to search by using keywords, CupidTags, First Name, Member Number, or using Popular Searches. MilitaryCupid also offers advanced matching algorithms or “Cupid Matching” for members who upgrade to a Platinum membership.
Members’ profiles are also easy to read and maneuver as its layout is nicely organized. Members’ profiles will display their name, age, location, member ID, what they are seeking, when they were last active, and any information that they decided to disclose about themselves and the partner they are seeking. You will also be able to view all the photos that the member posted on their profile. Members’ profiles will also show the areas that both of you have a match in by highlighting it in green and areas that are not a match in red. This helps the user determine whether or not this member would make a good match.
Members’ accounts will also indicate whether they are Platinum or Gold paying members and whether their identity has been verified. Members whose identity has been verified will have verification badges displayed in their profile. At the bottom of each profile, you will also find similar member suggestions. Each Profile also has the report abuse and block icons readily available, located at the top of each members’ profile, next to the Add to Favorites icon.
You can access MilitaryCupid through its website or its Android mobile app. Unfortunately, MilitaryCupid is not available for iOS users. If iOS users wish to access their platform they must do it through their mobile web browser. MilitaryCupid has 3 stars out of 5 and has been reviewed 406 times on the Google Play Store. Most of the mobile app complaints had to do with the limited contact members have with each other as standard members. Other complaints had to do with technical issues, termination or suspension of accounts for no reason, and problems accessing certain features through the app.
MilitaryCupid’s mobile app is easy to use and read. Its layout differs from its website counterpart, but you can still use the same features as the website. You can also expect to upgrade on the mobile app if you wish to use all of the features offered by MilitaryCupid, including being able to communicate with all members.
MilitaryCupid is not only McAfee SECURE Certified, meaning you will not find malicious links or phishing and they have active parameter scanning, but they also offer members the opportunity to earn verification badges. Verification badges are given to members that can confirm their identity by submitting copies of proper identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or national ID card. MilitaryCupid will also require their members to provide proof of their identity if they see the need to confirm the member’s authentication. If members are not able to provide proof of their authentication, their accounts will be terminated or suspended. These measures are practiced to provide a safe dating platform and experience for all of their users.
