SwingLifestyle Review

SwingLifeStyle (SLS) was founded in 2001 and was one of the first online dating platforms exclusively for swingers. It calls itself one of the most active lifestyle groups on the Internet and invites you to “start your sexual revolution.” SLS is a judgment-free, alternative dating lifestyle website that prides itself on having real members and no models or fakes.

Along with the typical messaging features, the platform offers events, clubs, groups, forums, and various modes of expression. The site has even branched out to encompass a travel agency and e-commerce business. Needless to say, whether you’ve been a swinger for years or you’re new to the scene, SLS is an online haven for those who want to experiment and explore with like-minded singles and couples.

Membership

The members on SLS are very active and won’t shy away from reaching out. There are about 250,000 U.S. members, which includes single men and women as well as swinger couples. In any given week, there are around 10,000 new sign-ups and 40,000 active members on the platform.

While there is no data on the age ranges of members, the majority of them are over 30. Over half of the members sign up as a couple, and there are about twice as many individual men on the site compared to women.

Creating A Profile

Sign-up is free and, again, you can register alone or with your partner. Registration only takes a few minutes and doesn’t require a profile picture, although you’ll have more luck if you add one. Upon signing up, you need to indicate “what pleasures you’re seeking.” You can choose from Tame, Moderate, and Wild. These refer to your preferences in the bedroom, where Tame indicates that you prefer sex only with your partner, although you’re okay with having sex with them while others are around. Moderate means that you enjoy intimate activities with others, but you’ll only have sex with your partner. Wild is more of an anything-goes kind of attitude.

You’ll also be asked to fill in basic information about yourself, such as age, height, weight, sexual orientation, and your smoking and drinking habits. Then, you’ll have to fill out the “most important part of your profile.” It’s sort of like a resume and is a requirement for all members. Give your profile a short tagline, then fill in the text boxes with a description of yourself as well as what you’re looking for on this site. SLS allows you to be quite detailed with your profile, all the better to attract the kind of people you’re looking for.

You’ll see that there are different photo galleries on your profile, too. Any image that you choose to be your profile picture will be visible to all members, but you can also have public and private galleries. The public photos will be visible to everyone and need to be free of nudity, but private images will only be accessible to those who you permit to and can get sexually explicit. Be aware that this is a Premium feature. Another perk of paying for a subscription is that you can hide your profile from public view so free members can’t see it.

Using the Site

There are a lot of possibilities on SLS, but unfortunately, your options are very limited without a membership plan. There are over 100 chat rooms and more than 15,000 groups, but they’re for paid members only. Likewise, messaging is a paid feature, although non-paying users will get notifications that they’ve received a message. Moreover, while nudes are permitted on the site, any images containing nudity will remain blurred for non-paying members.

The left-hand side of the screen is where you’ll find the menu. Here, you can explore all kinds of things, from Swingers Blogs to Forums, to Clubs, Stories, and much more. For instance, the Clubs tab will bring up an interactive map that locates clubs in your geographic area. This presents you with even more opportunities to meet like-minded people in your city. Clubs are often submitted and run by SLS members and are subject to certain rules. For instance, clubs are for SLS members only and can’t involve public bars or services.

Another feature is the Travel tool. SLS has a travel agency called Topless Travel, and it’s exclusively for SLS members. The agency hosts weekly get-togethers as well as more elaborate events like safaris, cruises, and more. There is also the Hot Date feature. This is a public calendar where members can list their availability in the hopes of meeting up with someone in their area. The Sex Stories tab is where users can submit their own erotic stories for all to read. If you fancy yourself a decent romance or erotica author, you’re invited to share your talent.

For some background music, try SLS Radio, which plays mostly techno and EDM. Clearly, there is a lot of interactivity on the site. As a free member, you can browse for free, but you’ll be limited in what you can participate in.

Finding A Match

SLS does try to find matches based on the preferences you specified during the sign-up process. This is convenient since the search filters aren’t as extensive as some other sites. You can indicate whether you’re looking for a male or female, a single or a couple, their age range, and how far they are from your geographic location. However, there doesn’t appear to be any advanced search options.

Most people on SLS often get straight to messaging and don’t want to waste time being flirty. As a non-paying member, you can receive messages, but you can’t send any. Also, you’ll be limited to only seeing the latest message that you’ve received, rather than the whole conversation. This makes communication on the site virtually impossible.

When you’re searching for other members, you’ll get a listing of profiles. Each listing will show the person’s profile picture and username, along with their tagline. You’ll also see whether they’re a paid member, a single or couple, and their desired age range. You may also see a couple of green icons above their name for messaging and video chatting. Other actions you can take include visiting their full profile, adding them as a friend, or writing a personal note about them.

Pictures are often rated, similar to the way movies are: G, PG, and R. G-rated pictures are visible to anyone and contain no nudity while PG-rated images contain partial nudity. R-rated photos are sexually explicit. Paid members can request to be friends, certify the profile, or rate their pictures. Non-paying members can only view basic profile information and public photos.

Accessibility

The website design is a bit boring and outdated, but it’s functional and intuitive enough. This may reflect the fact that the site is one of the oldest platforms for adult swingers. The layout and design may appeal more to a mature demographic rather than people in their 20s and 30s. The website supports Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Samsung browsers, but there is no mobile app. That said, SLS’s website has links to its social media accounts, including Facebook and Twitter, which are active and up to date.

SLS is affiliated with Fantasy Lube, a personal lubricant brand. Clicking the link on SLS’s site will take you to the Fantasy Lube e-commerce store, where you can purchase products. Besides that, SwingerLifeStyle has an online store where you can buy sex toys, accessories, entertainment, and more.

If you ever get confused about anything (which is understandable), take a look at the top-right corner of the page, where you’ll see a question mark icon. Click that to access the Help Page and see answers to frequently asked questions.

Safety

All profiles (and profile pictures) are initially reviewed by the administrative team. However, even before approval, you can still browse the site. Profile approval typically takes an hour or so. Also, SLS members need to be 18 or older, and you must verify that you meet this requirement upon signing up.

You can block anyone that you find offensive or abusive by going to their profile and clicking the “Block” icon under the Notes section. For your reference, SwingLifeStyle complies with FOTSA (Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act) policies. You can read more about this on SLS’s website.

If you need to contact the company, you can send mail to DashBoardHosting, LLC P.O. Box 9896 Coral Springs, FL33075. Alternatively, you can call 754-242-7440 or email support@swinglifestyle.com.

Pricing

If you’re a non-paying member, your options on this site are going to be incredibly limited. You can browse and search for matches, view partial profiles, and look through the forums and sex stories. If you want to communicate with others and get to know people, you’ll need to pay for a subscription. The prices on SLS are average, but there doesn’t seem to be a free trial.

The cheapest plan is a 1-month membership, which costs $14.95. Three months is $29.95 per month and six months is $49.95 per month. There’s a 1-year plan for $69.95 per month. Or, some people choose to pay $149.95 for a lifetime membership. Paid benefits include full access to profiles and pictures, unlimited messaging, access to groups, chat rooms, Hot Dates, and the other tools on SLS.

Membership payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. You can pay by credit card or check and you’ll be billed by Dashboardhosting LLC.

FAQs

How do I block someone?

You need to be on that person’s profile page. From there, click the “Block” button, which is under the Notes section.

How do I delete my account?

On the left side of the screen, click the “Tools” tab and then select “Delete your profile” at the bottom of the page. You’ll be prompted to type in your email address to verify the cancelation.

What is SLS’s affiliate program?

This is a program in which you make a bit of money whenever you refer someone to SLS and they sign up. Typically, you earn 50% of the price they pay for a subscription. So, if they sign up for a 3-month membership, you’ll earn $14.98 for every month that they’re a member.

How do I stop recurring payments?

Go to your account settings by clicking the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Click “My Account” and you’ll see options to edit your payment settings.

How long will it take for my profile to be approved?

It won’t take more than 24 hours, and most people get approved within a few hours.

What’s a Certified Member?

You may notice that some profiles list the person as a Certified Member. This means that a trusted user on the site recognized that person as someone they know personally, in real life. It’s a way of authenticating that person’s profile. This feature is only for paying members.
